Tools for Leadership Success
Description
Tools for Leadership Success is a series of seven half-day sessions developed to support KPNW Leaders. The program goal is to improve the leadership/management skills of our Leaders, resulting in improved levels of quality, service, and efficiency of health care delivery for our members.
Design
Seven half-day morning sessions conducted over a period of several months. Attendance at all sessions is encouraged. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided

Building the Foundation for Leadership and Trust
To set the foundation for leadership development by providing vision and direction to increase the capacity to lead in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
To develop leaders who can successfully build trust and develop cohesion within their departments and across Kaiser Permanente.
Session II: February 24
Quality Management & Resource Stewardship
To provide leaders with the knowledge, tools and resources necessary to address Quality and Resource issues and concerns.
Session III: March 3
Coaching for Performance
To help leaders develop the skills necessary to successfully coach the low, the mid-range, and the high performers within their team.

Practical Business Knowledge for Running Your Department

To provide individual leaders with skills and tools to work effectively within the Labor Management Partnership.
Session VI: April 7
Designing and Delivering Effective Meetings and Presentations
To develop individuals in the successful practice of designing, conducting, and facilitating effective meetings and presentations.
Session VII: April 21
Leadership and Change
To equip leaders with the knowledge and skills to lead and facilitate change efforts.
Accreditation
The Northwest Permanente Department of Clinical & Leadership Education, Kaiser Permanente Northwest Region, accredited by the Oregon Medical Association, designates this educational activity
for a maximum of 3.75 per session of AMA PRA Category 1 creditsTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Faculty
The strength of this program is the ownership and active support provided by NWP Senior leaders. These leaders will lay the foundation for the training series and continue to provide expert content throughout all sessions.
